Broadband Diffractive Optics for Efficient Light Management in Photovoltaics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

A micro-structured broadband diffractive optic efficiently concentrated and separated sunlight into spectral bands that were incident upon laterally separated single-junction photovoltaic devices. An increase in electrical power output was demonstrated with Si/GaAs and CIGS devices.
