Abstract

We report on the first demonstration of self-writing helical photo-polymerized fibers, formed by self-trapping effects and orbital angular momentum transfer effects in photo-cure resin, by picosecond optical vortex illumination via two photon absorption. Two photon absorption enables us to extend significantly the helical fiber with a sub-milli-meter length. Such helical fiber will be potentially applied as a waveguide of optical vortex mode.
