Abstract

We discovered that 1-μm picosecond optical vortex pulses direct azo-polymers towards clockwise or counter-clockwise direction to form chiral surface relief, mirroring a helical wavefront of the optical vortex, through two-photon absorption. The vortex pulse width required for the chiral surface relief formation is addressed.
