Abstract

We present denial of service attacks at switching nodes and amplifiers in all-optical networks. We discuss the applicability of traditional supervisory methods to such attacks and propose a new method for attack detection. Our method is applicable to transparent sysems and is significantly more rapid than bit error rate testers in detecting attacks.
