Abstract

All-organic photonic nanoparticles, ‘porphysomes’, formed from self-assembled porphyrin-lipid bilayers, generate unique fluorescence, photothermal and photoacoustic properties, active drug loading capacity, and direct metal chelating ability to enable PET imaging.
