A New Optical Nano-Construct Composed of a Genome-Depleted Plant Virus Doped with a Near Infrared Organic Chromophore

Abstract

We have engineered an optical construct composed of the brome mosaic virus doped with indocyanine green, an FDA-approved chromophore. These constructs may offer a non-toxic platform for site-specific and deep tissue optical imaging, and phototherapy.
