Abstract
We studied the dynamic characteristics of a random laser made of the solution of Rh6G dye in ethanol with Ti2O3 microparticles pumped by 532-nm pulses with 40-ps duration and compared them with those of a traditional Q-switched laser. A conclusion was made that the dynamic behavior of a random laser pumped by ps-duration pulses can be described approximately by the rate equations of a traditional Q-switched laser.
