Waveguiding in photonic crystal slab with variable thickness

Abstract

We demonstrate optical waveguiding in photonic crystal slab (PhCS) with a trench. This enables optical circuitry on PhCS prefabricated with holographically, eliminating the need for slow electron-beam lithography.
