Frequency tripling mirror based on optical interference coatings

Abstract

A new approach toward direct third-harmonic generation in dielectric layer structures is presented. Interference can increase direct THG efficiencies in multilayer structures significantly. The scaling of conversion suggests efficiencies of about 10% – 15%.
