Evaluation of dysprosium fluoride for low-absorbing mid and longwave IR applications

Abstract

Premolten DyF3 evaporation material was deposited by different evaporation techniques. The obtained films were characterized in terms of optical performance and are discussed as a potential substitute for ThF4 for low-absorbing MWIR and LWIR applications.
