Laser Induced Damage of Hafnia coatings as a function of pulse duration in the femto to picosecond regime

Abstract

LIDT with pulse duration ranging from fs to ns are measured in hafnia single layers made with different deposition techniques. Simulations are compared to experiments in order to obtain a theoretical description of laser damage in hafnia.
