Abstract

Metallic thin gold and titanium films deposited on plastics using dc magnetron sputtering were studied. The combined titanium-gold film exhibited better transmission in the visible region as well as high reflectance in the thermal infrared region compared to the corresponding single films. This is ascribed to better properties of the second gold layer when sputtered onto titanium. Adhesion and sheet resistance was preliminary estimated.
