Abstract

This paper reviews the techniques of optical coating fabrication compatible with polymeric substrates. Particular emphasis is on the energetic interactions during the film growth and their effect on the microstructure and on the film performance, which can be often related to the formation of an “interphase” between the coating and the substrate.
