Abstract

Since fall 2008, L-3 IOS Brashear Optics has been using the Q22-2000F, a 2.3-meter class MRF® platform, to figure a series of 0.75 to 1.8 meter class optics to completion. This paper describes accomplishments and performance achieved. An analysis demonstrating the gains achieved in Brashear’s large optics manufacturing process is also provided.
