Photonic Device Programs at the National Science Foundation

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The Division of Electrical, Communications and Cyber Systems (ECCS) addresses fundamental research issues underlying device and component technologies, power, controls, computation, networking, communications and cyber technologies. ECCS supports the integration and networking of intelligent systems principles at the nano, micro and macro scales. Photonics plays a role in most of these areas and has a variety of programs that are cross cutting and integrative in nature. In this talk, an overview of the Division will be provided and specific programs will be highlighted as examples of NSF’s investments in the area of Photonics. Current and emerging areas will be addressed. Article not available.
