Abstract

By incorporating a four-order Brillouin-frequency shifter (BFS) into a ring cavity, we demonstrate a quadruple-Brillouin-frequency wavelength spaced Brillouin–erbium fiber laser (BEFL). The multiwavelength generation is based on the cascaded stimulated Brillouin scattering occurred in two single-mode fibers (SMFs) with identical Brillouin-frequency shift of the four-order BFS. A four-channel Brillouin multiwavelength with 0.353 nm wavelength spacing is realized.
