Abstract

A fiber-optic ultrasonic sensor based on a suspended-core fiber exhibited significantly improved spatial resolution (several to tens of microns) and detection sensitivity (signal-to-noise ratio > 80 dB) by etching the suspended-core diameter to few microns.
