Shape sensing for pipe structures by inverse finite element method based on distributed fiber-optic sensors

Abstract

This paper proposed a method using inverse finite element method to estimate displacement of bending deflection of pipe from strain measured by fiber-optic sensor. Pipe shape was estimated in a high accuracy in simulation.
