Side-Polished Fiber-Optic Temperature Sensor for Cryogenic Conditions

Abstract

We report a fiber-optic sensor based on the thermo-optic response of polymers and evanescent field of side-polished fiber for monitoring cryogenic temperatures. The sensor is sensitive to temperature, generating optical intensity variations with linearly temperature-dependent intensities.
