Abstract

The side-hole fiber (SHF) long period grating (LPG) is fabricated by CO2 laser. The spectra of the SHF-LPG with different periods are studied when two air holes was respectively placed at horizontal and vertical direction. The experimental results show that the more the scanning times, the greater the modulation depth. And the wavelength move towards left with the reduction of the period. In the same period, the wavelength in the vertical direction is longer than that in the horizontal direction.
