A Versatile Fiber Bragg Grating Based Transducer for Dynamic Measurement of Force and Temperature

Abstract

A transducer based on two fiber Bragg gratings in a double helix format is presented. Sideways deformation of the helical structure allows simultaneous, dynamic, measurement of the deforming force and the ambient temperature.
