Fiber Optic Dynamic Displacement Sensing Using Phase-Modulated Reference Light and Partially Unjacketed Probe Fiber

Abstract

We demonstrate an interferometric dynamic displacement measurement that uses a partially unjacketed probe fiber and high-frequency phase modulation. Tens-of-nanometer scale displacement is measured only at the unjacketed section with a time resolution of 100 ns.
