Opto-Mechanical Point Sensing in a Multi-Core Fiber

Abstract

Point analysis of forward stimulated Brillouin scattering is demonstrated for the first time, using a Bragg grating in a multi-core fiber. Measurements distinguish between air and water outside a cm-scale fiber section.
