Abstract
An electrode-less electro-optic crystal is used to sense high intensity electric fields. The sensed electric field modulates an optical delay, which is introduced by the electro-optic crystal acting as a two-wave interferometer. The modulated optical delay is transmitted through a fiber optic channel; at the receiver the optical delay is demodulated by a second two-wave interferometer (a segment of birefringent optical fiber).
