Fiber optic remote digital temperature sensor based on laser powering

Abstract

We proposed and demonstrated a novel fiber-optic remote temperature sensor employing a digital sensor-IC and laser-powering. A low power system was realized by introducing a liquid-crystal optical modulator for transforming the IC-signal into the optical.
