A Fiber-Ring-Laser-Based Long-Distance FBG Sensor System with High Optical SNR

Abstract

A novel tunable fiber ring laser configuration with hybrid Raman/EDFA configuration is first proposed and demonstrated for realizing high optical SNR of ~60dB, long-distance of ~50km, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing systems.
