Long fiber reflectometry by use of two-photon absorption process in Si-APD

Abstract

We demonstrate a fiber reflectometry using the two-photon absorption process in a Si-APD. Reflectivity distribution for 10km fiber is measured with accuracy better than 0.1m and resolution better than 3m.
