External Fiber Fabry-Perot Acoustic Sensor Based On Photonic-Crystal Mirror

Abstract

We demonstrate an acoustic sensor based on a Fabry-Perot formed by a singlemode fiber and an external photonic-crystal mirror. We observe asymmetric Fabry-Perot resonances that are used to detect pressures as low as 18 µPa/Hz1/2.
