Development of an Optical Current Transducer Using a Flint Glass Fiber for a Gas Circuit Breaker

Abstract

An optical current transducer has been developed using a flint glass fiber as a sensor. It has been installed in a power apparatus called a gas circuit breaker. Some tests being done against the system, it is found that the characteristics of this system are compatible to those of a conventional current transformer.
