Simultaneous Measurement of Spontaneous Brillouin Scattering Amplitude and Frequency as a Function of Temperature

Abstract

Linear increases in spontaneous Brillouin power and Brillouin frequency shift with increased temperature were measured simultaneously in optical fibres. The potential for simultaneous temperature and strain measurement along a single optical fibre is discussed.
