Optical Coupling Using Fluorescent Doped Plastic Fiber

Abstract

We have been studying telecommunication techniques of remotely controlled micromachine operation system using fluorescent doped plastic fiber(FDPF). For these techniques, the improvement of light sensitivity between FDPF and micromachine is required.

In order to increase the sensitivity, we propose a method using the evanescent wave of plastic fiber(PF) and FDPF. This technique may be applied to an optical coupler and a micromachine operation system.
