Sulphur Sensing in High Voltage SF6 Gas-Insulated Systems

Abstract

Experiments are described in which optical fibres are used to monitor the production of sulphur in electrical discharges through sulphur hexafluoride (SF6). These have the potential for monitoring high voltage SF6 gas-insulated systems.
