Abstract

Recently, several methods have been presented for multiplexing the fiber sensor array[l,2]. Here we propose a new type of interferometric fiber sensor array using an incoherent light and a simple multiplexing technique. Introducing a frequency shifter into a delay loop in the system, the input signals imprinted at each sensor can be easily addressed on a series of heterodyne outputs with different intermediate frequencies. Therefore, in the proposed system the input signals can be demultiplexed in the frequency. Basic experiments are successfully demonstrated.
