TAPERED SINGLE MODE OPTICAL FIBRES FOR SENSING APPLICATIONS

Abstract

A novel single mode optical fibre remote temperature sensor is described. It is a dual wavelength compensated intensity sensor using a tapered fibre as a remote probe. The fabrication and performance of a laboratory demonstration is described.
