Abstract

An optical chemical sensor based on laser excited surface plasma resonance has been developed for measuring liquid samples. The sensing head made of thin metal coating on a corner prism is rotated by a stepping motor to change the incident angle of a He-Ne laser beam. The incident angle at which the reflection light intensity becomes the minimum uniquely related to the dielectric constant of the sample.
