Abstract

Recently, because of a large number of excellent characteristics which silica optical image fibers offer, silica fiber scopes have begun to be used in various industrial fields. Direct image monitoring by silica optical fiber scope has been studied actively for application particularly in nuclear power facilities to ensure safe operation of them. The necessity for image scopes is increasing. Parallel with this situation, the development of the so-called anti-radiation image fiber with a low loss increase by exposure to radiation has been desired.
