High-Performance Microring-Assisted Space-and-Wavelength Selective Switch

Abstract

We introduce a novel design of space-and-wavelength selective switch using microring-assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometers. A 2×2×2 λ elementary switch block is demonstrated with full spatial and wavelength switching capabilities, showing 20dB crosstalk suppression and 19dB extinction ratio.
