MAP Detection of Probabilistically Shaped Constellations in Optical Fiber Transmissions

Abstract

We present the theoretical analysis and experimental demonstration of MAP detection that outperforms the conventional detection for probabilistically shaped constellations in optical fiber transmissions. Larger BER improvements are observed for the stronger shaped constellations.
