Abstract

We report on the impact of wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) channel count onto the nonlinear distortions induced by an ultra-wideband (UWB) semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). We demonstrate experimentally that UWB SOA devices are well suited for wideband WDM signal amplification.
