Direct Measurement of Polarization Dependency of Mode Conversion in a Long Period Grating

Abstract

A thermal induced long period grating mode converter with high bandwidth, and low loss is presented. Polarization dependency of the mode conversion is measured using spatial and spectral (S2) imaging and found to be low.
