Statistical Distribution of the Possible Maximum Rate of Polarization Rotation in Optical Fiber Transmission Line

Abstract

We reveal that the possible maximum rate of polarization rotation at each instant follows the Maxwell distribution. The average value of the distribution is proportional to the square root of the fiber length.
