Chromatic Dispersion Analysis and Compensation in a Large Core-Count Few-Mode Multi-Core Fiber Based on Optical Vector Network Analysis

Abstract

Chromatic dispersion in a large core-count 3-mode fiber is analyzed, observing up to 0.75 ps/(nm-km) variations between mode groups. Furthermore, digital CD compensation is shown to relax the stringent path length matching required in such systems.
