Sub-wavelength Spacing Optical Phase Array Nanoantenna Emitter with Vertical Silicon Photonic Vias

Abstract

We propose and demonstrate an ultra-compact single-side emission nanoantenna array with sub-wavelength spacing utilizing silicon photonic vertical vias with 45o reflectors. A 24-channel optical phase array with thermal tuners demonstrates a proof-of-concept emission pattern.
