Abstract

We discuss the often conflicting technology choices 5G imposes on future networks. Edge Computing, Virtual RANs, Massive MIMO, as well as Mobile and Fixed Network Convergence - all creating unique network implementation challenges. We show that Fiber-Wireless technology has a significant role to play in turning the 5G dream into reality.
