Abstract

We characterized Brillouin scattering in heterogeneous multicore fiber (H-MCF), and unveil new perspective for distributed sensing using H-MCF based spatial-division multiplexing, in which discriminative measurement is achieved and bending induced uncertainty has been eliminated.
