Low-Cost Visible Light Communication System based on Off-the-Shelf LED for up to 4.3 Gb/s/λ Transmission

Abstract

Multi-Gb/s/λ visible light communication is demonstrated using a commodity LED rated for 150 Mb/s and OFDM/Nyquist-FDM with 256-QAM sub-carrier modulation. 1Gb/s/λ throughput and real-time video streaming is achieved over 10dB optical budget and PIN receiver.
