Broadband Optical Amplifier for a Wavelength Region of 1515 – 1775 nm

Abstract

We report the first demonstration of optical amplifier based on bismuth- and erbium-codoped germanosilicate fibers. The 15-dB small-signal gain window covers a 260-nm band by using a single-wavelength pumping at 1460 nm.
