Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate 40-Gb/s/λ PAM-4 transmission over a 20-km (30-km) SMF using only 10-G optics and simple post-nonlinear equalizations with a link power budget of 38 dB (30.7 dB) at a threshold BER of 10−3.
