Towards Programmable Microwave Photonics Processors

Abstract

We present the concept of software-defined microwave photonics programmable processor and describe recent efforts carried towards its implementation using photonic waveguide meshes in a similar way as Field Programmable Gate Arrays are employed in electronics.
