Abstract

We demonstrate a single-tone electro-optical frequency shifter based on an X-cut, Y-propagating Zn-diffused lithium tantalate waveguide emulating a rotating half-wave plate achieving 10 dB reduction in power consumption compared to Z-propagating LiNbO3 counterparts.
